GPS Groups

GPS is the primary vehicle for discipleship at the Compass Church.  We gather in GPS groups with our friends and neighbors to live life together and experience the Gospel in ways we can't on our own.  They are a place to wrestle with the truths of the Bible, love one another, serve the city, and participate in the mission of God.

GPS meets weekly on Monday or Tuesday nights, and primarily discusses what was preached about on Sunday.

Our GPS missional groups are defined around three core values:

bullet 2GOSPEL:
Firstly, we are committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are all about Jesus!! We are not about self help, mecca, new age, or anything else. We are about Jesus and His Word. Teaching about the Gospel (the power of Jesus - the person and work of Jesus), and learning to live as missionaries (being missional) within our postal code are our greatest priority for our GPS groups.

bullet 2PEOPLE:
Secondly, our GPS groups are focused around People. People matter to God. It is people that Jesus died for. People matter to us!! When we get together in our GPS groups, it provides an opportunity to get to know each other. We want to share our lives, whether we know Jesus as our Saviour or are just checking this Jesus thing out. We are people doing life together in community!

bullet 2SERVANTS:
One of the best ways to live out the mission of Jesus together is to demonstrate the Gospel in tangible ways as Servants. Within our GPS groups, we want to make serving our city a priority as we walk through life and live out the mission together. This is reflected through our everyday lives and through planned expressions of servanthood within our community as a GPS group.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING "Air War and Ground War"

Every Sunday, we hear a message from the Word, which is our Air War.
During GPS, we discuss the practical application of Sunday's message, which is our Ground War.
